2008 Annual International Conference
Impact of Science Education Research on Public Policy
The theme focused on local, regional, national, or international issues of policy related to science education (e.g., teacher licensure requirements, curriculum adoption, assessment regulations, and funding policy for science education).
Peter Fensham addressed issues of policy and science education research in his keynote speech at the NARST 2008 annual conference entitled, “The Link between Policy and Practice in Science Education: Where does Research fit in?” Below please find here three files, which you can download: Peter Fensham’s lecture, an Adobe version of his PowerPoint, and a short biography of Peter.

Conference proceedings will be formatted on CD. Individuals who wish their accepted abstract to be submitted for inclusion on the CD must send it to info@narst.org by Friday, February 15th. Accepted format only:
- Email subject title: NARST conference 2008 proceedings paper
- File formatted in pdf
- File name: last name and abstract # (ex: turnerQ-123-456)
Papers received after the February 15th date will not be included in the CD ROM.

International Committee Scholarships
The NARST International Committee is enthusiastic to announce that there will be fifteen scholarships to support international members of NARST (e.g., graduate students, junior scholars) to attend the 2008 NARST conference in Baltimore, MD.
